The question

What is the ruling on eating chicken that is slaughtered mechanically with the name of Allah mentioned only once for a large group, then washed in a single container of water without changing it? How does this affect its purity if obtained raw and can be washed, or if served cooked in restaurants without being washed again?

The answer

"Praise be to Allah.

It is permissible to slaughter chickens with modern automated abattoirs provided the tool is sharp and it cuts the trachea and esophagus, with the naming being done once by a Muslim or a person of the Book at the start of the machine. As for washing the chicken, if it comes out clean without blood, it is pure, but if there is blood on it, it must be washed before eating. The blood that flows during slaughter is impure, but the blood remaining in the veins is pure and may be consumed because it is not flowing blood, as stated in the Quran."
