What is the ruling on a man's hatred for the female gender, and is that considered disbelief because it might include women from the Household of the Prophet?

Disliking women is a characteristic of the people of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance), and whoever does so imitates them. It is not permissible to dislike people except for certain or probable disbelief or disobedience, and not merely based on illusion or doubt. Disliking the female gender does not mean disliking all its individuals, such as the Mothers of the Believers and virtuous women. Rather, it refers to the gender in general, or to those women contemporary with the one who dislikes them. And whoever disparages a village does not mean disparaging all its inhabitants, but rather some unknown individuals among them.
