Do the Quranic verse: "And if you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good" and the Hadith: "No believing man should hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he will be pleased with another" (Muslim), apply to women in the same way they apply to men, regarding patience with the other party and not disliking them for certain reasons?

Women are included in the general Qur'anic خطاب (discourse) that uses the masculine form, such as: (And live with them in kindness) and (Let not a believing man hate a believing woman). The rulings, promises, and warnings in the Qur'an encompass both genders, except where evidence indicates specificity to men. And Allah's saying: (But perhaps you hate a thing and Allah makes therein much good) means that good may be found in disliked matters. A believing woman should not detest her husband, for if she dislikes a certain characteristic in him, she might be pleased with another.
