Is it permissible, in Islamic law, for the children of the first wife to live with the second wife in the same house? What is the second wife's stance on this matter, and what is the right of these children to reside in their father's house?

A husband must provide his wife with a private dwelling that protects and preserves her and enables her to enjoy her husband. He is not obligated to house her with any of his relatives except with her consent. The dwelling must consist of a room with a kitchen and a bathroom, and it must have its own private lock.

If the children's stay is temporary (for a limited period), the other wife has no right to object to the husband's children staying, and the husband must inform his children that the wife has the right to manage her home.

However, if their stay is continuous, the husband is not permitted to house them with his second wife except with her consent. If she refuses, she has the right to a private dwelling (a room with a bathroom and a kitchen). If the husband wishes to keep his children, he must modify the apartment so that his wife has her own room and independent facilities.
