The answer

It is not forbidden to dislike death if a servant fears punishment in the grave due to his sins, for this is a natural human inclination. However, the fear of death should be a motivation for repentance, preparation for the afterlife, and increasing good deeds. A servant should remember death to become active in worship, increase repentance, and distance himself from sins. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, encouraged frequent remembrance of death and described those who remember it often and prepare for it as "the wisest of people." Scholars have mentioned that whoever remembers death frequently is honored with three things: hastening repentance, contentment of the heart, and energy in worship. And whoever forgets it is punished with three: procrastination of repentance, lack of contentment with sufficiency, and laziness in worship.
