The answer

It is permissible to eat meat imported from the countries of the People of the Book (Jewish or Christian) if their method of slaughtering it is known, due to the Almighty's saying: "The food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you." Likewise, what is unknown regarding its condition should not be inquired about unless there is doubt. However, what is known to have been stunned by electricity, or strangled, and the like, is not permissible to eat.
