The wronged individual has the choice to accept the apology of the oppressor who seeks forgiveness and pardon. They may choose to forgive (which is better), or demand their right. If the oppressor refuses to restore the right, the apology does not waive the right of the wronged person to demand it or to supplicate against the oppressor. The supplication of the wronged is answered, but the supplication must be commensurate with the injustice, no more severe. If the wronged person forgives their oppressor, they forfeit their right, and it is not permissible for them to demand it or to supplicate against them.
