The arousal of desire or an erection does not nullify ablution unless something is emitted from it. However, if the arousal of desire is accompanied by the emission of prostatic fluid (madhiy), then ablution is nullified thereby, and it is obligatory to perform istinja (washing the private parts), wash the penis, and purify the body and clothing from whatever madhiy has soiled them.
