What is the ruling on shaping the beard and trimming its edges, or thinning it, or cutting from it, or shaving the mustache or trimming it, and what should I do if the beard is irregular?

The hadiths indicate the command to let the beard grow and to make it full, and this necessitates not trimming it or taking from it. However, some jurists permitted taking from it if its hair became disheveled and disfigured it, or if it exceeded the length of a fist.

Therefore, it is not permissible to shave it, pluck it, or cut a large portion of it.

As for the mustache, the Sunnah is to trim it.
