A woman is not permitted to seek a divorce from her husband unless there is a legitimate شرعي reason, such as harm inflicted upon her due to his bad character or his negligence in religious matters. Otherwise, she will be deprived of the scent of Paradise, as stated in the noble . Seeking divorce before consummation is even more preferable if these reasons exist, in order to minimize negative consequences.
