Is it true that God Almighty said: "If you deny Me before people, I will deny you before them"?

The aforementioned phrase was not mentioned in any prophetic tradition from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is not permissible to attribute a saying to Allah Almighty that He did not utter. The denial attributed to Allah Almighty in the context of the mentioned phrase apparently means rejection, which is denial despite knowing the truth. This carries the meaning of falsehood, and Allah Almighty is far removed from it. Allah Almighty says: {And Allah speaks the truth, and He guides to the way} (33:4); and He Almighty says: {And who is truer in statement than Allah?} (4:87).
