The husband's permission for his wife to visit her aunt is an act of goodness, and the husband has not erred in this, even if it displeases her father. If obedience to the father and obedience to the husband conflict in what is good, then obedience to the husband takes precedence. It is obligatory for the wife to obey him, even if his command contradicts the command of her parents. Parents should not interfere in their daughter's affairs in a way that contradicts the husband's command, and the husband is not obliged to obey them in this. However, he should maintain his wife's relationship with her parents and encourage her to honor them.
