Why is the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, loved more than the rest of the prophets and messengers?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is the best of the prophets and the highest in rank with Allah, the master of the first and the last, and the Imam of the prophets and messengers. Allah has favored him over the prophets and has specifically distinguished him such that a servant does not truly believe until he becomes more beloved to him than all creation, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I am the master of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection, and no boast… and there is no prophet on that day—Adam and all others—but is under my banner," and his saying: "None of you will truly believe until I am more beloved to him than his father, his child, and all people." This love for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is a condition for the validity and perfection of faith. Allah has favored some prophets over others, and Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is the best of them. Love is consequent upon this preference, not merely on desire.
