The answer

She must be patient and seek reward [from Allah], and speak to her husband about her needs and desires at appropriate times, and frequently supplicate for his guidance. An intermediary can intervene for reconciliation and advice, reminding the husband of his wife's rights and his duties. If the husband continues his ill-treatment, she has the right to seek a divorce, because the marital relationship is either "holding together with kindness or parting with goodness." The husband must spend on his wife even if she is wealthy, because this is the reason for his guardianship. If the wife participates in the expenditure willingly, it is charity, and it is not permissible for the husband to take her money against her will. A woman going out to work has conditions and regulations. Among the wife's rights is to be treated kindly, and a husband's desertion of his wife or coercing her into intercourse is a form of ill-treatment. If the wife is ill and unable to have intercourse, she is not sinful for not enabling him, but she should try to please him in other ways. As for the fetuses she lost, give her the good news with the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, indeed the miscarried fetus will drag its mother by its umbilical cord to Paradise if she seeks reward [from Allah] for it."
