Have disobedient people been transformed into monkeys by God, and who are these peoples?

Transformation (maskh) is the alteration of a human's outward appearance. Allah transformed some of the Children of Israel into apes as a punishment for their disobedience. This transformation was a punishment from Allah the Almighty for their committing what He had forbidden them. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us that the Hour will not be established until transformation, subsidence (khasf), and pelting (qadhf) occur within this nation among the people of Qadar who deny it, and when singing girls (qaynat), musical instruments (ma'azif), and drinking of intoxicants become prevalent. These Ahadith are evidence of the occurrence of transformation in this nation as a punishment for some sins. However, the apes and pigs existing now are not from those transformed from previous nations, because Allah the Almighty did not grant offspring to those who were transformed.
