What are the prayers that have one tashahhud, and what is the text of that tashahhud?

If the prayer consists of two rak'ahs, it is performed with one tashahhud (definition) before the taslim (definition). If it consists of four or three rak'ahs, it is performed with two tashahhuds. As for the regular supererogatory prayers (sunan rawatib), general supererogatory prayers (nawafil), Istikhara, Tarawih, and Tahajjud, they are performed two rak'ahs at a time, each pair of rak'ahs with one tashahhud and one taslim, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The prayer of the night and day is two by two." If a supererogatory prayer consisting of four rak'ahs is performed with one taslim, it is permissible, but it should be performed with two tashahhuds.
