What are the prayers that have one tashahhud, and what is the text of that tashahhud?
If the prayer consists of two rak'ahs, it is performed with one before the . If it consists of four or three rak'ahs, it is performed with two tashahhuds. As for the regular supererogatory prayers (sunan rawatib), general supererogatory prayers (nawafil), , Tarawih, and Tahajjud, they are performed two rak'ahs at a time, each pair of rak'ahs with one tashahhud and one taslim, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The prayer of the night and day is two by two." If a supererogatory prayer consisting of four rak'ahs is performed with one taslim, it is permissible, but it should be performed with two tashahhuds.
