What is the specific time for purification and the final ritual bath after menstruation, knowing that the blood continues for five days, followed by a brownish discharge and intermittent dryness on the subsequent days? And is the sighting of yellowness (صفرة) or the white discharge (القصة البيضاء) a condition for the realization of purity?

A woman knows she is pure by one of two signs: dryness (al-jufūf) or the white discharge (al-qaṣṣah al-bayḍā’). Once she sees either of these, ghusl (ritual bath) and prayer become obligatory. Any yellowish or brownish discharge that appears afterward, outside of the usual period, should not be heeded, because these are only considered menses if they are connected to blood or occur during the customary period. It is obligatory to stop praying for the duration of the bleeding days and any associated yellowish or brownish discharge. If dryness is observed, even for an hour, ghusl and prayer become obligatory, and no attention should be paid to any yellowish or brownish discharge that appears thereafter. As for the mentioned rule concerning menses, purity, and the minimum period of purity, it is meaningless and incorrect. The statement that the minimum period of menses is one day and one night is correct. This does not mean that recurring blood is not considered menses unless it exceeds one day and one night and occurs during the menstrual period. Rather, if the blood stops for more than a day and a night, then returns within the fifteen-day limit (the maximum duration of menses), and stops before exceeding this period, then ghusl must be repeated, even if the recurring blood does not exceed one day and one night. As for yellowish and brownish discharges, they are considered menses if they are connected to blood or occur during the customary period.
