What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a husband who is constantly traveling, leaving his young wife and small children, and does not want to settle down?

A husband is responsible before Allah for his family and children, for they are his flock. He must attend to their interests and needs and protect their rights, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire," and the Almighty's saying about Ishmael: "And he used to enjoin on his people prayer and zakah." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Each of you is a guardian and is responsible for his flock... A man is a guardian over his family and is responsible for his flock." Providing for one's family and children is akin to jihad; it is a charity for which one is rewarded, as in his saying: "Whatever a man spends on his family is a charity, and a man is rewarded for raising a morsel to his wife's mouth." He is also required to ensure his wife's chastity and treat her with kindness, as the Almighty said: "And live with them in kindness." Neglecting her is not considered kindness, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, your family has a right over you."
