What is the ruling on a husband traveling for recreation with his friends, leaving his wife and children behind, knowing that he has obligations and debts and that the wife and children are eagerly awaiting the holiday? And is it forbidden for the wife to be angry with him and not speak to him throughout the trip?

The narration by Al-Bukhari from Salman al-Farsi indicates the necessity of balancing rights, and that a person must give everyone their due. Therefore, if the husband feels constrained by staying at home excessively, there is no harm in him spending some time outside for permissible recreation, provided that this does not become prolonged to the extent that it harms his wife and children. As for the wife, she must know that obeying her husband is one of the greatest deeds that bring her closer to Allah, and that her anger towards her husband and not speaking with him contradict what she has been commanded regarding pleasing him, unless there is a legitimate religious reason for it due to the husband's dereliction of her rights.
