The answer

Afarit is the plural of ifrit, which refers to a wicked, cunning jinn. Its mention is found in the Holy Qur’an and the Prophetic . In the Qur’an, Allah Almighty says: "An ifrit from the jinn said, 'I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy.'" (Quran 27:39). In the Sunnah, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, an ifrit from the jinn tried to attack me last night to interrupt my prayer." This much is sufficient to indicate the existence of afarit.
