Is it obligatory for a girl to inform her fiancé about her father working as a butcher and pork seller for a foreign Christian, and his addiction to alcohol, and what should she answer if asked about that?

A girl should inform her suitor about the true nature of her father's work, which is not approved by Islamic law, because the marriage contract is built on honesty and frankness. Moreover, the matter of her father's work will eventually become known even if she does not disclose it. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Religion is [sincere] advice." And Allah the Almighty said: "And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another." She should also ask him for help in advising her father and reminding him. Whatever the destiny, a Muslim should be content with what Allah has apportioned for him.
