Is the husband sinful if his wife disobeys him in his religious interpretations, such as staying away from music, mixed-gender weddings, and mixed-gender beaches, knowing that she considers these things a waste of opportunities to enjoy life and refuses to heed his advice based on verses and hadiths?

Allah Almighty has made it obligatory for adult women to wear the hijab, and this is a matter of consensus among scholars. The Quranic text is explicit regarding the obligation of the hijab. It is your duty to command her to do what is obligatory for her according to the clear religious text. Allah Almighty has given you guardianship and made you responsible for your dependants.

While it is obligatory to compel her to wear the hijab, we recommend that you be patient with her and take your time before divorcing her. Follow the path outlined by the Sharia in the case of a wife's disobedience (nushuz): admonish her, then forsake her in bed, and if that does not work, then strike her lightly, without causing injury. You should not be lenient by allowing your wife to go out or meet non-mahram men without her hijab. Use wisdom in your approach with her.
