Does committing evil deeds like smoking and using bad language invalidate the protection gained by consistently reciting the prescribed Islamic invocations and the morning and evening remembrances?

Remembrance (Dhikr) is a means for a servant's success and the rectification of their affairs. Sins, however, have an effect in depriving a servant of sustenance. Nevertheless, Allah may answer the prayer of a disobedient person or a disbeliever out of His generosity and grace, just as He answers the prayer of the distressed and the oppressed, even if they are disbelievers. Thus, the answering of a prayer does not always signify Allah's contentment with the supplicant or His love for them.
