If the wife's father repents and shows signs of righteousness, and there is no fear of his corruption affecting the wife, then it is not permissible to prevent the wife from visiting him or speaking with him. However, if he does not show signs of repentance or if there is fear of his corruption affecting her, then the husband has the right to prevent her from visiting him and speaking with him. We would like to point out that kinship from the mother's side does not establish guardianship in marrying off the daughter.
