What is the authenticity of the Hadith: "Indeed, the best of my Ummah will migrate, migration after migration, to Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem)," and is it authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him? If so, what is its text, both chain of narration (sanad) and content (matn)?

The aforementioned hadith regarding migration to Jerusalem, praying therein, and its virtue is narrated without an isnad (chain of transmission) in some books on the virtues of Jerusalem. It should not be definitively attributed to the Prophet, peace be upon him, as long as its state is unknown. A believer must be meticulous in what they transmit from hadiths, to guard against the severe warning concerning the narration of fabricated hadiths, for "Whoever narrates a hadith from me, believing it to be a lie, is one of the liars."

However, authentic hadiths have been reported concerning the virtue of intending to go to Jerusalem to pray therein. Among them is the hadith from Abdullah ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "When Sulayman ibn Dawud finished building Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem), he asked Allah for three things: a judgment that would coincide with His judgment, a dominion that no one after him should possess, and that no one should come to this mosque intending nothing but prayer therein, except that he would emerge from his sins as on the day his mother bore him. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'Two of these were granted to him, and I hope that the third was also granted to him.'"
