What is a mother's responsibility before God concerning her daughters who do not observe prayer and Hijab, despite the mother's diligence in teaching and guiding them since childhood? Will she be held accountable for their abandonment of these practices, given her continuous advice and exhortation without coercion, and while preserving her mental health? Does this approach absolve her of responsibility before God?

You must continue to supplicate for your daughters' guidance, for hearts are in the hands of Allah, as He Almighty said: "Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills." If you have exerted your utmost in advising them and they have not responded, then you are absolved of responsibility, for every soul is held accountable for what it has earned.

If you are able to compel them to pray and observe hijab (definition) without great harm befalling you, then do so, acting upon the hadith (definition): "Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand." Otherwise, you must express your disapproval of their actions. It is permissible to shun those who openly commit sins, even if they are relatives, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, shunned those who resumed throwing pebbles after he forbade it. Scholars have stated the permissibility of perpetually shunning people of innovation and immorality. If you despair of their rectification, then shunning is permissible.

However, if you are safe from great harm, then you must compel them to righteousness, even if they dislike it, for their hearts may later be opened to faith, as in the hadith: "Our Lord marvels at people who are led to Paradise in chains," meaning they embrace Islam unwillingly, and this becomes a reason for them to enter Paradise.
