Is it permissible to eat the meat of a blind animal that has been ritually slaughtered?

It is permissible to eat a slaughtered animal that is one-eyed, blind, lame, or has any other defect, as long as eating it does not cause harm to the consumer, and provided that it is intended solely as meat. However, if it is intended as a sacrifice (Udhiyah), it is a condition that it be free from defects. Therefore, an animal that is clearly one-eyed is not acceptable, and by extension, a blind one is even less so. If a one-eyed or blind animal is offered as a sacrifice, it is not acceptable as an Udhiyah, but it is permissible to eat its meat.
