What is the difference between the ritual impurity (najāsa) of alcohol (khamr) used in the manufacture of certain products and not for drinking, and other substances that are not for drinking but have a harmful effect on the mind if consumed by mistake, knowing that some juices contain a very small, non-intoxicating percentage of alcohol?

Alcohol is considered impure by the four Imams and the majority of scholars due to the explicit command to wash utensils affected by it and its description as an impurity (rijs). Alcohol is defined as anything that intoxicates and causes pleasure and euphoria. Substances like gasoline and Dettol are not considered alcohol, and their use is permissible. The use of alcohol in cleaning agents and perfumes does not make it permissible, and one must resort to permissible alternatives. Juice is permissible as long as it has not fermented to the point of intoxication. If a large amount of it intoxicates, then even a small amount is forbidden.
