What is the ruling on uttering phrases during supplication such as: "by the blessing of what is accepted from us," "by the blessing of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him," and "by the blessing of Al-Fatiha"?

A Muslim's supplication by virtue of accepted good deeds is legitimate, as in the Hadith of the Companions of the Cave. Supplicating through individuals or their blessings is not from the guidance of the Salaf and should be avoided, because supplication (Du'a) is an act of worship, and its basis is divine revelation (Tawqif). It can be replaced by legitimate means of obtaining a response, such as the Grand Name of Allah (Al-Ism Al-A'zham) and the supplication of Yunus. Supplicating by the blessing of Al-Fatiha is not forbidden, but it is preferable to begin by praising Allah the Almighty, offering the praise contained within it before the supplication. One should not deviate from the known Sunnah to something not accustomed by the Salaf.
