The answer

We were created to worship Allah alone, and supplication (Du'a) is the essence and hallmark of worship. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Du'a is worship." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, frequently supplicated to his Lord by His Names and Attributes, as he was commanded to do so in the Almighty's saying: "And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them." Among his comprehensive supplications is: "O Allah, rectify for me my religion which is the infallibility of my affair, and rectify for me my worldly life in which is my livelihood, and rectify for me my Hereafter in which is my return. Make life an increase for me in every good, and make death a rest for me from every evil." The best supplications are those found in the Quran and , and what emanates from the heart. One must beware of innovated supplications.
