Is it permissible to marry without a dowry (mahr), a pre-payment, or any means, due to the financial circumstances of young people?

The Mahr (dower) is money that the wife is entitled to receive from her husband upon the marriage contract or consummation. It is an obligation, as stated by Allah the Almighty: "And give the women (upon marriage) their dower as a free gift." The marriage is valid even without specifying it. The woman is entitled to a Mahr Mithl (dower of her peers) if consummation has occurred, or a Mut'ah (consolatory gift) if she is divorced before consummation. If the woman waives the Mahr, it is forfeited by the husband.
