The interpretation of the verse (And of every created thing We made two mates, that you may remember) is that Allah created two opposing categories from all beings, such as male and female, night and day, belief and disbelief, death and life. And every pair reminds us of Allah's power and oneness. As for the verse (And of all fruits He made in it two pairs), it refers to two types from each kind of fruit, such as sweet and sour, and moist and dry. And in the verse (And We created you in pairs), the intent is the creation of humans as males and females from a single kind, so that one may find tranquility in the other and progeny may arise.
