Is it permissible to disinherit a disobedient son due to his theft of money, as a form of discipline?

It is not permissible to disinherit an heir, especially if it is a child, because doing so involves excessive disobedience, severing ties of kinship, and causing discord. Ibn al-Qayyim, in "I'lam al-Muwaqqi'in," considered disinheriting an heir from their rightful inheritance to be a major sin. Therefore, it is not permissible to disinherit this son; rather, he should be advised and warned about the punishment of Allah.
