What should I do regarding the seven days I missed fasting last Ramadan due to ulcerative colitis, given that fasting worsens my condition, and I do not know when the disease will calm down? I also fear a relapse if I attempt to fast later. What is the ruling on my fasting in general?

We ask Allah to grant you a swift recovery. If the illness is one from which recovery is hoped for, then you must make up the missed days of fasting when you are able. You are not required to pay an expiation for delay if you are unable to make up the fasts until the next begins. However, if doctors have determined that your illness is incurable, then you must feed a poor person for each day you missed fasting, and for the future days you will miss. You are permitted to break your fast in the future if fasting would harm you, based on the information provided by a specialist doctor.
