Is it forbidden for a woman to sing religious and national poems and hymns?

Singing, if it includes musical instruments or other instruments of diversion, is forbidden, and its religious or national nature does not make it permissible. If it does not include forbidden instruments of diversion, but strange men hear it, then it is not permissible, because a woman's voice is not permissible for anyone other than her husband and her mahram (definition) (unmarriageable kin). Most national songs promote racism, nationalist slogans, pre-Islamic tribalism, and destructive principles, so it is not permissible to sing them. A woman's singing, free from prohibitions, is permissible among believing women, or for her husband, children, and mahram, provided that the song does not contain anything forbidden or reprehensible.
