What is the ruling on slaughtering a ram for the blessed Eid al-Adha when the sheath of one of its horns has been removed and then fully healed?

The majority of scholars hold that the shedding of the horn's sheath is not a defect that prevents the sufficiency of the sacrifice if it has healed, while the Hanbalis consider it a defect that prevents sufficiency. If a sound sacrifice is found, it is preferable; otherwise, there is no impediment to sacrificing an animal whose horn's sheath has fallen off, based on the opinion of the majority. Al-Shawkani states that a broken horn does not prevent sufficiency according to Abu Hanifa, Al-Shafi'i, and the majority. The Shafi'is dislike sacrificing an animal that is hornless (al-jalha'), one with a crooked horn (al-ʿasma'), or one with a broken horn (al-ʿadba').
