Is the feeling of being a stranger in the religion, despite repeatedly committing sins and repenting from them, while one's family is non-Muslim, hostile towards Islam, and abusive, considered religious alienation or a punishment from God?

One must repent to Allah Almighty for sins, for Allah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful; He accepts repentance no matter how often the sin is committed or how great it is. Allah Almighty says: "And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons misdeeds," and "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.'" As for affliction, it is a test from Allah, and it may be a punishment for sins. Allah Almighty says: "And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your [own] hands have earned; but He pardons much." One must be patient, adhere to religion, fear Allah, and increase in acts of obedience and supplication.
