Is insulting or cursing religion in a state of anger considered a major sin, what is the repentance for it, and how should one deal with such a situation?

Cursing the religion is an act of disbelief that expels one from the fold of Islam, unless the person cursing the religion has lost their mind, like the insane. As for ordinary anger, it is not an excuse. Whoever curses Allah, or His Messenger, or His Book, or His religion, is a disbeliever, whether serious or joking. However, if someone does so in a state of extreme anger, where they lose control of themselves and do not know what they are saying, then they do not become a disbeliever by that. But they should, upon regaining consciousness, reflect upon themselves, seek Allah's forgiveness, and accustom themselves to the remembrance of Allah. If the one who cursed the religion did so in a situation where they are not excused, then it is obligatory to explain to them the gravity of their act, and that by it they have exited the fold of Islam, and that they must repent, utter the two testimonies of faith, and regret what they have committed.
