Must one make up for missed prayers and fasting from before learning how to pray after embracing Islam, as well as what was missed of prayers and fasting before Islam?

A new Muslim must openly declare his Islam and proclaim the rituals of the religion, even if it requires emigration if he finds no other way, unless he is coerced and fears for himself and finds no way out. He is not required to make up for prayers and fasting missed before embracing Islam, as that would cause hardship and deter people. However, anything missed after embracing Islam must be made up for, according to the majority of scholars.
