The answer

An unbeliever, upon embracing Islam, is not required to make up the prayers missed before their conversion, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: (Say to those who disbelieve, if they cease, what has passed will be forgiven them). However, they are obligated to perform the prayer whose time they caught after embracing Islam, if they caught a unit (rak'ah) or more of it.
