Does the wife receive the full value of the inheritance first, or the value of a single individual's share when the inheritance is distributed?

The share of a wife whose husband has passed away, if he has a lineal descendant, is one-eighth. This is based on the Almighty's saying: "But if you have a child, then for them [the wives] is one eighth of what you leave." This one-eighth is taken from the entire estate, whether it be money, real estate, or anything else.
