Is it true that angels used to greet Noah's Ark whenever it passed by a country, except for Egypt, because Allah protects it?
The story of angels guarding Egypt, and that Allah Himself undertook its protection, has no sound origin or سند (chain of narration), nor has it been mentioned by any of the scholars. What Al-Suyuti mentioned about Noah blessing Egypt was without a سند and did not mention protection.
The about Noah's supplication for blessings upon Egypt has a weak chain of narration, and it includes Ibn Lahi'ah, who became confused (in his narration).
Likewise, no authentic hadiths have been reported regarding the meaning of Allah's protection of Egypt, such as: "Egypt is Allah's quiver on His earth," "The people of Egypt are the weak army," and "Egypt is all the treasures of the earth."
The soundest narration regarding the virtues of Egypt is the hadith in Muslim: "Indeed, you will conquer a land where the qirat (a unit of measure) is mentioned. So, treat its people well, for they have a dhimmah (covenant/protection) and rahim (kinship/womb)."
