How is the blood money (Diyya) to be divided for a woman who strangled her infant, and should it be paid in one lump sum or in installments, given that her monthly income is 700 Egyptian Pounds and she has no savings?

The blood money (diyah) for killing a child is borne solely by the mother and must be paid immediately, unless she is unable to do so, in which case it may be paid in installments if the heirs do not waive it. The diyah is divided among the heirs, excluding the mother. If the infant has a father and a maternal grandmother, the grandmother receives one-sixth, and the father receives the remainder by way of ta'sib (agnatic inheritance). The money can be given to them without informing them that it is diyah, out of concern for the father's potential reaction towards the mother.
