A question about a deaf and mute father who receives a pension of 3000 Riyals and takes from social security to buy a house, and he is the sole provider for a family of 8 people: Is it permissible for him to receive zakat?

Praise be to Allah. If a person does not find enough for his basic needs of food, drink, clothing, and shelter for himself and those he supports, then it is permissible for him to take from zakat. If his income is sufficient for these needs, then it is not permissible for him to take from zakat. Nor is it permissible for him to save his money to buy a house and then take from zakat, unless he is among those who are entitled to purchase a house from zakat funds.
