The answer

Breaking the fast while traveling is a legitimate concession from Allah for travelers, whether the travel is by vehicle, airplane, or other means. The Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions would fast and break their fast during travel. If fasting becomes difficult for the traveler, then it is better for them to break their fast. Breaking the fast may be even more emphasized if the heat is intense, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "It is not righteousness to fast during travel" for someone who is greatly afflicted by it. Drivers who spend their lives traveling are permitted to break their fast during their journeys, even if travel is their profession. They must fast, however, when they reach their homeland and reside there.
