Is it better for the traveler to fast or to break the fast in Ramadan, especially with the ease of current travel methods?

It is better for a traveler who is able to fast without hardship to do so, because it is quicker in fulfilling one's obligation, and this is the view of the majority of scholars. However, if fasting is difficult for him, then breaking the fast is better, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying concerning those who fasted and found it difficult: "Those are the disobedient ones," and his saying: "It is not righteousness to fast on a journey" for those for whom fasting is difficult.
