Will a person see their sins on the Day of Judgment as a video recording? And how will that be?
Allah Almighty informed us in His Book that on the Day of Resurrection, man will be given a book containing all his deeds, which he will read himself. The believer will be given it in his right hand, and the disbeliever in his left hand from behind his back. And His saying, exalted be He: "And every human being have We bound to him his fate in his neck, and We will bring forth for him on the Day of Resurrection a book which he will find spread open. 'Read your book. Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as an accountant.'" [Al-Isra: 13-14]. And His saying: "And the record will be placed, and you will see the criminals fearful of what is therein, and they will say, 'Oh, woe to us! What is this book that leaves neither a small thing nor a big thing but has enumerated it?' And they will find what they did present, and your Lord wrongs no one." [Al-Kahf: 49]. And His saying: "Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, He will be حساباً يسيراً judged with an easy reckoning And return to his people in joy. But as for he who is given his record behind his back, He will cry out for destruction And enter a blazing Fire. Indeed, he was among his people joyful." [Al-Inshiqaq: 7-13]. Thus did Allah inform us about the manner in which the servant's deeds will be presented to him on the Day of Resurrection.
