The answer

One must focus on the deeds Allah has commanded and utilize one's energies and time in acquiring knowledge and acting upon it. All of a servant's actions, whether good or evil, are recorded for them, and they will be questioned about what they saw or heard, for Allah Almighty says: "And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight, and the heart – all of them will be questioned." The angels observe and record every word and deed, for Allah Almighty says: "Not a word does he utter but there is a watcher by him ready [to record it]."

Allah will give every person their book on the Day of Resurrection to read all their deeds, for Allah Almighty says: "Read your book; sufficient for you today is yourself as an accountant." And He says: "So whoever does an atom's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it." This book "does not leave out a small one or a large one but that it has encompassed it."

Scholars have differed on whether everything that issues from a person is recorded, such as movement and stillness, or only that which entails reward or punishment. Some said that even a groan is recorded, while others said that only what earns reward or incurs sin is recorded. What is related to the servant's actions, such as their hearing or sight, it is likely they will find it in their book. As for what others have done, and the believer in Paradise wishes to see it, if they ask Allah for that, He may grant it, because the believer attains what they desire in Paradise, for Allah Almighty says: "And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes."
