Is it permissible to pay a bribe to get a job in a company that hires no one except through it, knowing that the company does not choose the most competent and that the hiring conditions do not fully apply to me?

It is impermissible to offer bribes to circumvent or manipulate employment conditions, as this entails injustice towards the company and unlawful consumption of its wealth. It may also lead to corruption by allowing unqualified individuals to assume positions. Bribery is defined as that which is given to seize another's right or to evade an obligation. Bribery is prohibited by Islamic law, and verses and hadiths indicate its prohibition and curse upon those who engage in it, unless it is for warding off harm or obtaining a right that cannot be acquired otherwise; in such a case, the sin falls upon the recipient of the bribe. Sustenance is apportioned, and lawful means are abundant for those who fear Allah and are diligent in their search.
