Is it permissible to hasten the prayer upon hearing the phone or for any other reason?

It is not permissible to rush through prayer in a manner that compromises its pillars, such as tranquility (طمأنينة) and proper posture (اعتدال), whether this is to answer a phone call or for any other reason. However, rushing that does not compromise the pillars is permissible, especially when there is a need. This is supported by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) narration: "Indeed, I stand for prayer intending to prolong it, but then I hear the crying of a child, so I shorten it, disliking to burden his mother." This hadith indicates the permissibility of being gentle with the congregants, considering their interests, and shortening the prayer due to an unforeseen circumstance. Phone owners must turn off their phones before prayer to avoid disturbance and should refrain from using musical ringtones.
